Top 5 Gym Exercises for Serious Arm Wrestlers

Building Strength for the Table

Arm wrestling requires an extreme level of localized strength in the hands, wrists, and forearms. Standard bodybuilding routines won't cut it. To dominate on the table, you need exercises that build joint-stabilizing tendons and grip pressure.

1. High-Cable Wrist Cupping

Set a cable machine to a high position, attach a fat-grip handle, and pull the weight toward your chest by flexing your wrist. This builds finger-cupping strength vital for defensive play.

2. Strap Pronation Curls

Wrap an arm wrestling strap around your thumb and connect it to a loading pin. Curl the weight using your forearm rotators to build the pronation lock required for top rolling.

3. Hammer Curls (Radial Rise Focus)

Perform hammer curls with a dumbell, focusing on lifting with your index finger knuckle. This increases wrist rising strength, helping you control the height of the setup.

4. Static Towel Pull-Ups

Drape a towel over a pull-up bar, grip the ends, and perform pull-ups. Hold a 90-degree arm angle to build static endurance.
